At least we have a power Co that with 100% out of power rallies the linemen and work to restore power so we can be comfortable and return to some noramlsy. At least most of us in cairo were fortunate to have a house still intact. In today's world everyone is quick to judge and slow to help! These men are giving all they got to get us power. ![]() Their wives are dealing with this by themselves they have no power either. Maybe they get a shower maybe not, maybe they can get a few hours of sleep on their cots if they are lucky. A record storm just hit our area!! I see these guys down the road dripping sweat replacing li nes and poles walking through nasty snake infested woods, to help us get power back on. I had water drawn up and got my candles and flashlights out ready to be a bit uncomfortable a few days. Emc states they did not know cause of loss at this time. No rain, just sunshine! 8/27/18 lost power due to back to back surges. No one with EMC cares!!! How can a power company get away with this lack of servic e and care? Lost power. Speaking with neighbors, they state that it's been this way for 24 years with no attempt of resolution. I have never experienced this with any other utility company. We can't depend on power even in great weather. We can't even keep a single clock set within our home.
